After testing for many months, the new Xbox interface, more refined, is finally arriving on consoles around the world.

Microsoft has taken user feedback into consideration and has introduced a completely redesigned dashboard for the Xbox Series X. This update brings significant upgrades to the user interface, resulting in a more enhanced and streamlined gaming experience.

Microsoft has therefore begun to deploy this new interface, emphasizing quick access and readability. Significant changes were made to the Xbox Series S / X system (the price of this latest model has recently increased) and to the Xbox One after years of an interface deemed too cluttered.

>> A gradual deployment

After nearly a year of development, the new Xbox interface is here. If you don't see it on your system yet, that's normal. Microsoft warns that its deployment is being done gradually and that it should be completed everywhere in the world within a few weeks. A new interface was presented in detail by the manufacturer and designed taking into account user feedback. The result is an interface “that makes it easier to discover new games, rediscover games you love, connect with communities, and create more personalized experiences. »

Work on redesigning the interface began many months ago. Members of the Insiders program were even able to discover it as early as September 2022 to give their feedback to Microsoft, which could thus adjust the settings and the user experience accordingly. These returns notably requested more space to display personalized wallpapers or faster navigation options.

>> A clean interface

Microsoft gives us a quick tour of the changes made to its interface. What strikes the most at first glance is the space left to the backgrounds. Microsoft has lowered the thumbnails completely, leaving only two, smaller rows at the bottom of the screen. Another notable change is the establishment, at the top of the screen, of quick access to five menus: My Games and Apps, Microsoft Store, Game Pass, Search and Settings. An option allows you to display the cover of the game selected in the list of recently played titles in the background.

With the trend being to discover new things, Microsoft is adding lists of games to discover, created and personalized for players. The new interface also allows you to pin your favourite games, but also applications or groups. Finally, still, to make the Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One multimedia machines, the interface presents the media applications available as well as recommendations of programs to watch and listen to on these apps.
